General Herd Health

There are 4 “Foundations” all which help with stress. Stocking density, pasture rotation, Vaccine program, Nutrition program. Consistency.
Critical. Cervids are highly sensitive animals. Stress directly impacts immune function, feed intake, and disease resistance.

Fawn Health & Management

Colostrum intake within the first few hours of life is the foundation of immunity and long-term health.

Vaccination & Immune Strategy

Typically 30-50 days prior to fawning to support colostrum quality and passive immunity transfer.
Prior to antler growth, generally late winter through the end of March.
Yes, most operations vaccinate again in the fall prior to breeding season.
It often coincides with weaning, breeding prep, AI programs, and CIDR insertion.
The goal is to maintain stable antibody (titer) levels throughout the year and avoid vaccinating during peak stress periods.
No. Strategic timing and proper use are more important than frequency.
Late winter / early spring and fall prior to breeding.

Diagnostics & Disease Management

As early as possible — before treatment when feasible.
Extremely important. Patterns over time provide insight into recurring issues.

Nutrition & Feeding

It is the foundation. Nutrition impacts immune function, growth, reproduction, and performance.
No. Supplements support a solid feeding program — they do not replace it.

Veterinary Oversight

A veterinarian provides oversight, helps guide treatment decisions, and ensures responsible use of medications.

CHM Approach

Attention to detail, consistency, and a focus on prevention rather than reaction.
A systems-based approach focused on environment, nutrition, and animal condition first—then diagnostics and targeted interventions.

Stronger herds. Smarter strategies.

Powered by Fusion Animal Health, CHM delivers practical health strategies, advanced diagnostics, and vaccine programs designed to protect herd performance today and strengthen genetic and operational outcomes for the future.
